The Red Hat Data Foundation business team is looking for a highly motivated Principal Architect with direct experience assisting enterprise customers solve problems using a combination of open source software components to join us in India. In this role, you will work as part of a team of architects who develop and deploy emerging vertical industry use cases with customers that can be shared with buyers and sellers globally to initiate validated patterns that deliver measurable customer value. Through direct collaboration with customers and partners, you will work to continuously discover and develop repeatable data patterns that can be combined with open source software you write into solutions that target real customer problems. Customer solutions that you’ll work with can run across the hybrid cloud including public cloud, private cloud, VMware, and bare metal environments. Key components of the solutions can include open source technologies like Red Hat OpenShift (Kubernetes), Open Data Hub, Rook, Red Hat Ceph Storage, NooBaa, Kafka, and SQL and No-SQL databases. This is a directly involved global solutions architecture position with up to 25% travel and a focus on customers in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

What you will do

  • Identify emerging data library patterns to use Red Hat Data Foundation offerings in validated patterns to solve customer business problems
  • Discover and describe what differentiates our data solutions from competitive alternatives by working directly with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders who develop, deploy, and operate our validated patterns
  • Create workload validated patterns and performance characterization guides with major industry partners for data-intensive workloads running on Red Hat OpenShift
  • Create and conduct on-demand workshop sessions, providing expert assistance based on your experience for technical buyers and sellers
  • Communicate and promote the results of various validated patterns globally through publication of blogs and speaking at webinars and conferences

What you will bring

  • Solutions architecture skills; 5+ years of demonstrable experience in architecting customer solutions using Linux, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, software-defined storage solutions, public and private clouds, big data ecosystem tools, DevOps, automation, and monitoring
  • Software development skills; 2+ years experience in one or more high-level programming languages like Python, Java, Node.js, and Golang
  • Data services skills; 2+ years of experience architecting data engineering and data services-based solutions for big data analytics, data pipelines, or artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) workloads
  • Linux skills; Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent practical experience
  • Communications skills; experience publishing professional blogs and whitepapers and presenting at internal and external webinars and industry conferences
  • Teamwork skills; 10+ years of experience contributing to a technology team
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Passion for open source and community-based software development models
