Job summary

The Red Hat Single Sign-On team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Munich, Germany. In this role, you will work as a member of the team responsible for developing and productizing the Keycloak project. You will work within Red Hat and the upstream Keycloak community to investigate, develop, and test new core features and capabilities, enhancing the feature set of the Red Hat Single Sign-On offering and the way the features are shown to application developers. You will be also collaborating with other teams and upstream communities like those of Red Hat OpenShift or Quarkus, helping to apply best practices around proper design of security-related features and with their implementation. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will interact and closely collaborate with other internal teams at Red Hat that use Red Hat Single Sign-On. You will also have an opportunity to promote Keycloak and its community outside of Red Hat. This role will be based at one of Red Hat's offices. Working remotely is a possibility.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of core features of the Red Hat Single Sign-On offering or related to the various types of integrations with other Red Hat’s offerings
  • Participate in the design and implementation of security-related features and integrations for the Red Hat Application Services group of offerings
  • Participate in prototyping, design, and development of features related to observability, management, or upgrading aspects of Red Hat Single Sign-On deployments
  • Participate in productization of Red Hat Single Sign-On
  • Develop examples and documentation in support of the usage of Red Hat Single Sign-On
  • Work with the upstream community to enhance the feature set of Keycloak and its integration with Red Hat OpenShift and the whole ecosystem of related projects like Quarkus

Required skills

  • High-level expertise in software development using Java; including development of Java EE applications
  • Good understanding of core concepts related to application security
  • Familiarity with modern token-based application security standards like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
  • Ability to learn quickly and solve issues as they arise
  • Ability to work within a distributed team and communicate effectively


Any of the following considered as a plus:

 

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Istio Service Mesh
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Red Hat Application Services portfolio
  • Familiarity with Quarkus
  • Familiarity or direct experience with Keycloak codebase and core features
  • Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) and operational aspects of running software in production
  • Experience contributing to upstream open source software communities
