    Job summary

    Red Hat’s Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, your work will include development and maintenance of infrastructure and services related to application build pipelines for the next generation of offerings intended for the open hybrid cloud. You will be expected to participate and contribute to the upstream projects and collaborate with teams to meet specific reliability initiatives. As a Software Engineer, you’ll need to have practical knowledge of and interest in designing, building, and deploying reliable infrastructure services. You are also expected to be familiar with best practices in product engineering leading to always-ready builds.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Design and deploy software artifacts to augment build pipelines
    • Work with other engineering teams to ensure that services meet scalability, availability, security, and performance goals
    • Communicate feedback from developers to stakeholders; review API designs and test new features
    • Manage and optimize the delivery of our offerings from source code to build outputs
    • Research and experiment with key technologies, architectures, and standards
    • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to debug and resolve technical challenges
    • Build a usage community around the platform by writing technical articles, presenting at developer conferences, and working with contributors
    • Serve as a community member by participating in developer discussion forums, mailing lists, and social media

    Required skills

    • Programming knowledge of Python and Go
    • Practical familiarity with modern approaches to build pipelines, including software supply tools
    • Practical experience with cloud platforms and reliability engineering
    • System administration knowledge, including system security
    • Ability to support multiple development teams and successfully impact design across a range of domains of expertise
    • Experience measuring, analyzing, and optimizing scalability and performance
