    Job summary

    Use our unique middleware applications capabilities and implement successful DevOps, continuous integration (CI), and cloud-based development consulting projects. The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Consultant with significant experience in JEE and development areas to join us in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, you will play a key part in our customers' evolution in enterprise development and help make our solutions both practical and workable for their businesses. You’ll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat’s technologies like Red Hat Middleware, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat Process Automation Manager, and Red Hat OpenShift. As a Consultant, you will work to gain understanding of customer infrastructures and business needs, make recommendations that resolve their challenges, and help them make strategic decisions. You'll build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about learning new offerings and technologies and expanding their core base of expertise while traveling to customer sites within South Korea promoting Red Hat’s solutions.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Address customer technical, development, and strategic IT requirements as the main point of contact for Red Hat professional services
    • Track and manage projects including status, issues, and time reporting
    • Consult with customers to work on problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware and software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
    • Understand the risks and benefits of implementing Red Hat-based solutions in regard to customer requirements and existing investments
    • Use industry practices alongside Red Hat's policies and procedures to solve diverse problems
    • Analyze data to evaluate key factors in problem-solving
    • Make judgment calls to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
    • Oversee the delivery and project management of customer and partner projects

    Required skills

    • 3+ years of application development experience and some knowledge of development language and tools
      Deep experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions, preferably Red Hat Middleware; experience with Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, webMethods, Tibco, Apache Tomcat, and etc.
    • Basic knowledge of and experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Process Automation Manager, or alternatively other Platform-as-a-Solution (PaaS) and business process management (BPM) solutions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and status of key projects to both business-minded and technically savvy audiences
    • Ability and desire to learn new technologies on your own and apply new concepts to problems
    • Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team while demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and ability to work without direct supervision
    • Good project management skills
    • Platform or middleware migration project experiences
    • Knowledge of open source software in the middleware area is a plus
