    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Sales Account Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for new account development and expanding existing accounts within the banking and retail industry. You will sell our offerings, systems, and services to customers in assigned territory, industry, or accounts. You’ll need to be able to close sales. As a Senior Sales Account Manager, you will generate prospective customers through cold calling and you be may need to qualify and follow up with sales leads. You will make sales through multichannel, inbound, or outbound sales activities. You’ll maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the industry, as well as the competitive position of Red Hat within it, and you’ll prepare activity and forecast reports as requested. You’ll also need to have thorough knowledge of company our offerings, systems, and services.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop new accounts or increase existing ones
    • Serve as a sales representative for the assigned territory, industry, accounts, or offerings
    • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and channel partners
    • Represent the company to the customer and the customer to the company in all sales-oriented activities
    • Focus on acquiring new customers and retaining and growing an existing installed base of customers
    • Follow up on the selling process in order to guarantee the new businesses for the company

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of experience working as an account manager or in a similar role oriented on the retail and banking industry
    • 8+ years of sales management experience with a demonstrated record of success, preferably in the software or IT industry
    • 10+ years of successful business and territory or industry development experience
    • Solid understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Great communication skills with the ability to articulate comprehensive technological strategies to a wide range of decision makers within an organization, including technical, business, and C-level audiences
    • Good language skills in English
    • Knowledge of open source technology is a plus
