    Job summary

    The Red Hat Middleware Messaging Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will improve the quality of our Messaging-as-a-Service (MaaS) offering and help expand Red Hat’s cloud-enablement middleware solutions portfolio. You’ll gain a deep understanding of a variety of technologies, including Python, Red Hat OpenShift, complex event processing, event-driven architecture, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Kubernetes, and container technologies. As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will be encouraged to motivate yourself and the team to work on improvements to the quality of our offerings.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop, maintain, and carry out automated and manual tests
    • Deliver clear and timely status reports
    • Cooperate with global development and quality engineering teams
    • Contribute to upstream communities
    • Participate in the test and product planning processes
    • Analyze and prioritize quality risks and determine the tests required to mitigate them
    • Conduct new feature research and design test cases accordingly
    • Document and advocate the resolution of new bugs with the developers and identify potential impact on our customers
    • Ensure that solutions are ready to be released to the public





    Required skills

    • Experience with Java and JUnit
    • Advanced user knowledge of Linux operating system
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Comfortable working with a geographically distributed team
    • Ability to think creatively
    • Willingness and ability to learn new things and adapt to a rapid change

    The following skills are considered a plus:


    • Experience with Shell and Bash scripting
    • Familiarity with messaging protocols AMQP and MQTT
    • Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
