    Job summary

    The Red Hat Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Marketing team is looking for a PR and Communications Manager for the ANZ region to join us in North Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will create and manage communications programs to support the ANZ business and provide strategic communications counsel to ensure consistent delivery of messaging and brand. You will also serve as the point of contact between internal stakeholders and external PR agencies. As part of this role, you will work closely with the field marketing team in ANZ, while also working in collaboration with the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Demand Center (RDC), Corporate Marketing, Sales teams, and PR agencies. As a PR and Communications Manager, you'll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver exceptional work on message, on brand, and on time.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the PR and communications strategy for the region, aligned with global and local business objectives
    • Work with key internal stakeholders to understand the business and marketing initiatives to develop and implement a communications strategy aligned with priorities
    • Work with Asia Pacific (APAC) PR Manager and ANZ Marketing Director to support in-country PR activities and communications updates to stakeholders and internal teams
    • Work with local PR agency to create and carry out integrated campaigns supporting key priorities
    • Manage the development and implementation of communications, as well as media relationship building events and briefings for high-profile corporate events like the Red Hat Summit, Red Hat Forum, and C-level events
    • Work with marketing team, PR agency, customers, and internal stakeholders to develop and maintain customer reference stories and communication assets
    • Collaborate with teams and manage multiple, simultaneous projects in a timely manner with additional responsibilities as required
    • Manage and administer budget related to PR and customer and corporate memberships

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of PR and communications experience in the ANZ region within enterprise software or IT industry
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in public relations, journalism, communications, or a similar field
    • Experience working with agencies, media, and customers for communication assets and customer reference stories, involving traditional and social media channels
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience developing and editing materials in support of PR activities, like press releases, pitches, bylined articles, and PR plans
    • Social and digital capabilities with a solid understanding of new communication techniques
    • Ability to effectively understand business goals and strategies to create communications programs and strategically support them
    • Ability to effectively manage internal stakeholders and external agencies, build and maintain great relationships with Red Hat's PR team, agencies, field marketers, and global PR counterparts
    • Proactive with the ability to manage and work on multiple projects with changing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment
