    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will help develop the next generation of our customer platform. You will become part of an agile and globally distributed development team, contributing value to our customers through the enhancement of both customer and internal systems. In this role, you'll need to be both creative and motivated, proficient in building web applications, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on understanding the business requirements and any technical limitations of our customers. In addition, you will be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research and translating the findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. You will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the offering and iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing in order to ensure a great user experience.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Understand the specifications of offerings and user psychology
    • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
    • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
    • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
    • Find creative ways to solve UX problems, including usability and findability
    • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
    • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
    • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

    Required skills

    • Two or more years of UX design experience; experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments is a plus
    • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, InVision, Figma, Framer, and the like is a must
    • Advanced knowledge of HTML 5, Sass, and CSS3 skills
    • Basic understanding of JavaScript and any JavaScript framework like React or Angular
    • Solid portfolio of design projects
    • Solid understanding of web standards and semantic HTML
    • Understanding of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and customers
