    Job summary

    The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Director to lead our Services Strategy and Offering (SSO) team. In this role, you will lead a team that develops and implements an overarching strategy of Red Hat’s consulting. You will also develop product offerings specific to ensuring that Red Hat’s tools and technologies are successfully adopted by our customers. The core customers of the SSO team come from the globally diverse regions within consulting; North America (NA), Latin America (LATAM), the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific (APAC). As the leader of the SSO team, you will be responsible for collecting feedback and requirements from the global team and for developing strategies, tools, and offerings, which can be used by the regions to support successful implementation of their business. You will be responsible for defining and leading the development and relevance of consulting offerings ranging from structured to custom offerings and from developed solutions around Red Hat’s core technologies and new innovations to complex cross-functional solutions. As the Director, you will provide direction for numerous teams delivering unique Red Hat value proposition solutions while continuing to innovate upon successes. To implement the services strategy and deliver it successfully, you will work closely with the Emerging Technology Practices, Services Marketing, and the Communities of Practice teams. You will also work closely with the regional consulting leadership team to achieve the organization’s business objectives measured by services bookings, revenue, and margin and utilization targets.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Actively participate in the development of your team with a focus on key skills and experience across market verticals and solution areas
    • Manage and lead teams with cross-functional skills including technical, marketing, and project management skills
    • Create and document the integrated global services strategy
    • Guide the creation of offerings through the consulting solutions program
    • Create and implement the thought leadership program
    • Develop the global partner integration model
    • Support the strategy and integration of Red Hat acquisitions into the Global Consulting team
    • Identify key opportunities for Red Hat consulting that can provide added value with new services approach and methodology
    • Develop and manage offerings strategy, align it with the services marketing go-to-market strategy, and ensure that it is integrated with broader Red Hat’s go-to-market strategies
    • Develop and manage existing consulting offerings
    • Solicit feedback, prioritize, and develop additional offerings
    • Support the global rollout of offerings and alignment with regional leaders
    • Be responsible for meeting regularly with regional consulting teams to gather requirements, feedback, and ensure that the consulting strategy and offerings are aligned with their needs
    • Manage all the back-office tasks to ensure visibility and reporting on team activities
    • Support and manage complex projects, workshops, and agile delivery
    • Guide services thought leadership and business success through cross-functional alignment with sales, business, engineering, support, and enablement and training teams
    • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships and persistent bi-directional communications with business teams leadership to ensure consulting preparedness for evolving product strategies, and to provide invaluable customer experience and feedback to the business teams to improve product direction
    • Use customer and market experience to constantly improve strategy, offerings, programs, and materials so that they best apply to consulting need

    Required skills

    • Excellent knowledge and operational experience in professional services organization, operations, delivery, and marketing
    • Ability to quickly embrace and understand new technologies; ability to assimilate new information and understand complex topics and strategies
    • Experience and demonstrated expertise in the management of a professional services team with highly technical associates; excellent customer-facing skills
    • Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
    • 8+ years of experience working as a solutions, enterprise, consulting, or delivery architect
    • Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT operations and engineering professionals and business executives
    • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
    • Solutions sales mentality and the ability to work in an environment with multiple products and services
    • Proven ability to work seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of intellectual agility; good problem-solving and creative thinking skills
    • Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
    • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams and with the open source communities via email and IRC
    • Ability to study on your own, quickly learn, and put new knowledge into action
    • Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation
    • Willingness to travel weekly to locations throughout the United States and occasionally travel to EMEA and APAC regions
