    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will manage a team of open source technical writers. This team has a crucial role in Red Hat’s value proposition, as it enables our customers to adopt Red Hat’s solutions and helps them achieve their technical and business goals. You’ll collaborate with peers around the world to shape and guide our strategic initiatives for developing customer-centric content. As an Associate Manager, you'll guide the work and direction of your team, helping them create content that is technical, engaging, and easy to use. You’ll need to demonstrate leadership skills and use your own technical writing experience to inspire, motivate, and develop your team members.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities and effectiveness, develop their competencies, and make sure that they work towards their career goals and meet their career expectations
    • Partner with documentation program managers and content strategists to motivate and enable your team to meet project goals
    • Organize and coach your team to effectively meet customer needs and work towards the company goals
    • Work with your peers to understand global staffing needs, the required skills and experience to fill these needs, and how to identify these skills in candidates when hiring
    • Coordinate with your peers globally to ensure collaboration and consistency with content tasks
    • Promote cross-functional coordination between technical writers and customer-facing technical associates across the company

    Required skills

    • Experience working as a technical writer in an enterprise software organization
    • Demonstrated record of improving customer experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Experience working in teams distributed around the world
    • Experience with and passion for promoting change and continual improvement
    • Previous experience with agile software development
    • Experience with people management, documentation team leadership, or documentation program management
    • Experience with open source software is a plus
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, technical communications, or related field is a plus
