    Job summary

    The Red Hat OpenShift Support team is looking for a highly skilled Associate Technical Support Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will collaborate with our customers' top developers and architects, understanding, troubleshooting, and guiding complex and challenging issues to resolution. You’ll partner closely with Red Hat’s development engineering teams and work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community. You’ll work with the industry's most innovative technologies, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes, and you’ll use and expand your knowledge of networking, performance, and storage. As an Associate Technical Support Engineer, you’ll need to have excellent teamwork and communication skills, as you will be part of a dynamic and diverse team working around the world to create the most value for our customers and partners.     Primary job responsibilities

    • Ensure that customers get the maximum value and can easily use our offerings and subscriptions
    • Use your engineering experience to understand, troubleshoot, and debug customer issues via web-based inquiries, calls, or remote sessions to ensure that they are able to get the full value from the Red Hat OpenShift offering
    • Exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding customer service
    • Proactively update our customers and ensure that they are satisfied with our support service
    • Collaborate with other engineers and developers to develop creative solutions for our customers, including fixes for our offerings
    • Share your knowledge gained from troubleshooting issues by contributing to the global Red Hat’s knowledge management system
    • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation

    Required skills

    • Solid experience with Linux or Unix operating systems; good understanding of and experience with installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
    • Ability and desire to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies
    • Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container tools
    • Fluent written and verbal language skills in English
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within the enterprise IT
    • Troubleshooting and debugging skills; passion for problem-solving and investigation
    • Willingness to learn new open source technologies
    • Upstream involvement in open source projects like patches submitted for upstream inclusion is a plus
    • Red Hat certification like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or other relevant certifications are a plus

     

    Knowledge of any of the following is considered a plus:

     

    • Networking and software-defined networking (SDN)
    • Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environments (public and private cloud), e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Virtualization
