    Job summary

    The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join us in Ra'anana, Israel. Help us create great technology that delivers long-term freedom, flexibility, choice, and superior performance on day one. In this role, you will focus on the quality and test automation for one of our leading offerings - Red Hat Virtualization. You'll do this by learning how to plan, develop, and carry out sophisticated automated tests on large and complex systems. As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will serve as an individual contributor of the team while working closely with the development team in the agile methodology. Collaboration is key at Red Hat, and you’ll have the opportunity to impact the future of our technology along with many other developers in the open source community. Our pool of engineers is always growing and you will have opportunities to lead, learn, and grow as a professional and as a person.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Analyze and prioritize quality risks posed by the offering in development and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks
    • Write automated tests and carry out manual tests
    • Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
    • Clearly document new bugs and advocate their resolution with developers and communicate their impact on customers and their businesses
    • Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
    • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies

    Required skills

    • Ability to work with a team and use available resources to create innovative solutions
    • Active programming skills using Python
    • Professional experience with the Linux operating system
    • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining test environments and automated test suites
    • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technologies, or equivalent work experience
      2-5 years of experience as a quality engineer or developer


    The following are considered a plus:


    • Experience with one or more technologies like virtualization, networking, storage, or API tests
    • Familiarity with open source software development methodologies
    • Familiarity with agile methodologies
