Senior Financial Analyst

The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join us in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this role, you will perform monthly financial and operational reporting, including both short-term and long-term forecasting, review strategic business investments, and analyze global performance. You'll develop an understanding of the global business model in order to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis. You’ll be expected to have great communication skills, as you'll need to clearly explain complex financial issues and provide sound solutions for these issues.

• Assist in monthly financial and operational reporting, including analysis of global performance and alignment
• Coordinate with other global finance team members to review consolidated short and long-term global financial forecasts
• Help provide financial models and dashboards with analyses on investment, expenses, capital expenditure, balance sheet, and headcount trends, including variances of actual to budget and year-over-year
• Review annual financial targets and goals, analyses, and measurements in order to meet expense management and return on investment obstacles
• Look at business functions' financial results following each month and quarter-end financial close
• Support operating teams, including Sales, R&D, Marketing, and Product teams; assist in the development of financial-based justification for capital expenditures, additional investments in new product launches, product continuation or retirement, and expansion of new and existing business activities for sales and technology projects
• Ensure that the off-line reporting matches with the existing system-based management reporting
• Participate in the monthly close process, including journal entry preparation and analysis for expense reporting
• Perform profit and loss (P&L) variance and trend analysis between actual, budget, and forecast targets
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly close package

• 5+ years of progressive financial experience in Latin America (LATAM) region, including taking responsibilities for financial planning and analysis
• Demonstrated business knowledge, as well as strategic and analytical thinking skills
• Results-oriented with the ability to take initiative and become accountable
• Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with senior management
• Good problem-solving and financial modeling skills and the ability to navigate financial ERP systems
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts; experience working in an international company and experience with technology are a plus
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, metric-oriented environment
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy
• Fluent in both English and Spanish
