    Job summary

    The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a GL Accountant for end-to-end general accounting to join us in Mumbai, India. In this role, you’ll need to be a trained GL Accountant with direct working experience to support India accounting and other related activities. You’ll work closely with the global Finance team and play an integral part in ensuring accurate and timely general ledger accounting for Red Hat's finances.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Perform accounting for India in collaboration with a centralized accounting team like the Global Business Development (GBD) team
    • Perform quality control in various processes at the transactional level, including payment batches, accounting journal entries (JEs), accounts receivable (AR) reviews, exception reports, etc.
    • Manage India accounts payable (AP) activities in coordination with the GBD AP team
    • Create first-level month-end reviews
    • Focus on cash flow projections and treasury related activities
    • Prepare statutory books, including support for statutory audits
    • Assist in new and ongoing projects and other ad hoc activities as assigned

    Required skills

    • Chartered accountant (CA) with 2-3 years of experience, or CA Intermediate with 5 years of experience
    • Good working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP); Oracle is a plus
    • Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processor software
    • Good analytical skills and diligent communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure with distributed teams
    • U.S. multinational corporation (MNC) experience is a plus
