    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you will support the Ansible Sales team and provide presales technical support to prospective customers. You'll work with key customers both on site and remotely to build a relationship of trust and confidence between Red Hat and the customer engineering, development, and operations teams. To be successful, you'll need to gain an understanding of customer business needs and align those needs with the capabilities of our solutions. You will also play a crucial role in bringing together internal cross-functional teams to satisfy our most challenging customers. As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you will serve as a customer advocate with these teams to architect the best solutions and ensure that they are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. This role can be based in any of our EMEA locations with access to a major airport to enable travel across EMEA.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Deliver successful Red Hat Ansible Automation workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and inspire customer use cases and architecture design decisions
    • Scope evaluations and guide customers through successful proof of concept and pilot deployments
    • Design, create, and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell, service, and support Red Hat Ansible Automation solutions at scale
    • Work closely with internal product, Product Engineering, Professional Services, Support, and Sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with Red Hat's offerings
    • Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risks
    • Demonstrate expertise and vision in Red Hat Ansible Automation communities by producing outstanding whitepapers, webinars, etc., and by speaking at industry-leading conferences

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of IT industry experience working in regulated industries including retail, finance, and power
    • Solid Linux system administration skills at the level of Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher, although certifications are not required
    • Solid Windows system administration skills at the level of Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or higher
    • Experience using Chocolatey and nuGet for software deployment
    • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and DSC
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V and Azure
    • Knowledge of AD, Kerberos, and TLS (certificate management)
    • Experience dealing with security events, log analysis, and forensics of Windows systems
    • Solid background in DevOps, in particular advanced knowledge of one or more software configuration management tools (ideally Red Hat Ansible Automation)
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
    • Solid background in consultative customer engagement with a major professional services organization or within the services division of a major software company
    • Record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in both English and German, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
    • Solutions-sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services
    • Ability to work seamlessly with distributed, cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Excellent balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of mental agility and capacity for original thought
    • Willingness to travel up to 70%
