    Job summary

    The Red Hat Inside Sales team is looking for a Territory Inside Sales Representative to join us in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for uncovering new sales opportunities in named mid-market accounts within your assigned territory (including mid-tier financial services and telcos) and sell the Red Hat's solutions within this territory. You’ll identify, nurture, and close opportunities with customers, manage sales forecasts on a weekly basis against quarterly targets, and track customer data. As a Territory Inside Sales Representative, you'll also work cooperatively with internal and external partners to improve business and create solutions that serve the best interest of both our customers and Red Hat.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Sell Red Hat's enterprise offerings and services into an assigned territory via telephone with our external partners
    • Answer sales queries and process leads in accordance with Red Hat's service-level agreements (SLAs)
    • Meet assigned sales quotas, while growing and renewing existing customer relationships and acquiring new business
    • Manage forecasts, close deals, record sales activity, and track customer data using company standard customer relationship management (CRM) tools
    • Make sure proposals and quotes of specific solutions get sent out to gain new customers and upsell existing accounts
    • Keep an up-to-date knowledge of the industry and of Red Hat's competitive position within it

    Required skills

    • Demonstrated sales success and ability to identify and understand customer opportunities within an assigned territory
    • Ability to open up new customer relationships and expand existing ones by engaging and identifying opportunities for Red Hat’s solutions
    • Understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Motivated and results-oriented; positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit
    • Ability to build long-term relationships with customers to become a trusted adviser for all services and software solutions Red Hat can offer to its customers
