    Job summary

    The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Head of HR to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will serve as a trusted adviser and mentor to our Indian leadership team and associates, while guiding and developing the HR functions in India. You'll be responsible for the delivery of solutions that achieve business results across a diverse customer portfolio including the sales, services, marketing, and the product and echnology (PNT) teams. In addition to developing strategic partnerships with businesses, you'll also be responsible for guiding the continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying opportunities to guide for future processes that support scalability and efficiency. As a Head of HR, you'll work closely with the HR management and administration on employee-related matters in order to align the talent strategies in the India region with the strategies of senior leaders.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Provide internal consultation and advisory services on a broad range of HR issues
    • Manage the entire employee life cycle, including performance management, compensation and benefits, employment relations, local employee communications, and personal development to support managers and improve associate, department, and business performance
    • Work according to the priorities of the talent strategy set by the People team, or regional management and collaborate with our global centers of excellence (CoEs) at our regional and global headquarters in Singapore and Raleigh, NC
    • Contribute to the development of the overall HR functions by sharing best practices and knowledge
    • Lead or contribute to Asia Pacific (APAC) HR projects
    • Actively formulate, develop, and implement results on key organizational issues for the region including process improvement, change management, leadership development, strategic staffing, succession planning, retention strategy, policy and procedure creation and application, and organizational design
    • Help to implement talent management initiatives in the region and assist teams with their People strategies
    • Communicate HR programs to leaders, managers, and employees; provide guidance on local employment laws, policies, and procedures

    Required skills

    • 12+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in the HR field working in a fast-changing environment   
    • Background in HR management consulting and strategic business partnering
    • Solution-oriented, with the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets and experience levels
    • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; critical thinking
    • Understanding of organizational dynamics and an operational experience with large and complex organizations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed for the ability to join in executive-level discussions
    • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills including coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution
    • Good organizational and time management skills; high attention to detail and a customer focus
    • Flexible, enthusiastic, and motivated with the ability to work successfully across APAC cultures
    • Previous experience working outside of India in a multinational corporation is a plus
