    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) Service Management team is looking for an Application Developer to join our global team in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will provide essential support for managing Red Hat's IT information system known as Configuration Management DataBase (CMDB). You’ll ensure that CMDB provides high data quality to our stakeholders and assist in process improvement, documentation and automation. As an Application Developer, you will primarily work on ServiceNow and Red Hat’s offerings.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary infrastructure inventory custodian
    • Automate data collection from multiple offerings (in particular Red Hat’s offerings and technologies) into a centralized authorized location
    • Lead operational activities related to data quality and governance processes
    • Maintain configuration item classes and relationships (relational database) in ServiceNow as well as in the data sources
    • Develop system automation scripts
    • Perform functional and regression testing
    • Develop dashboards on data quality and operational metrics
    • Collaborate with a team of developers, business analysts, and process owners
    • Prioritize work with respect to scrum (an agile methodology)

    Required skills

    • Solid software development skills in scripting or object-oriented languages
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to be persuasive, but diplomatic
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with technical and non-technical teams
    • Record of working with multiple developers in a production environment
    • Basic experience working as a Linux administrator in production environments
    • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodologies, including CMDB, incident, problem, and change management; previous developing experience with ServiceNow is a big plus
    • Experience with DevOps configuration automation systems (Puppet, Chef, or Red Hat Ansible Automation) is a plus
    • Experience developing custom REST-oriented APIs and integrations is a plus
