    Job summary

    Help the Red Hat Developer Platform become the developer platform of choice. The Red Hat Developer Platform team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams from across the company to help deliver the ultimate developer experience. You'll become part of the core Red Hat Developer Platform team and you’ll play an active part in the open source community for the project. As a Software Engineer, you will also collaborate with developers from other Red Hat projects and open source communities.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work directly with the team to develop necessary user delivery backend frameworks for the best customer experience
    • Investigate and improve the established development processes
    • Create tools that you yourself would like to use
    • Participate in the community by writing blogs, participating in forums, and speaking at user groups and conferences
    • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements
    • Deliver one or more critical software solutions on time and on (or under) budget
    • Seek new ways of solving problems that increase efficiency
    • Conduct design and code review
    • Enforce code quality and performance
    • Apply design patterns to solve problems

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
    • 5-8 years of working experience
    • Experience developing in a language like Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Go, or C or C++
    • Familiarity with Linux Containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift; working experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) systems
    • Familiarity with frameworks, libraries, or SDKs for your language of choice
    • Interest in DevOps and in how the entire development process can be improved
    • Experience working with a distributed team and communicating between different teams
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Familiarity with open source development, projects, and processes is a big plus
