    Job summary

    The Red Hat Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Telco team is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Telco Technology Office (TTO) team in London, U.K. In this role, you will help accelerate the growth of our business in platforms including Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Openshift, and Red Hat Middleware. You will focus on key growth in our five Telco pillars which include network function virtualization (NFV) and NFV mobile network functions, BSS/OSS, enterprise, media/fixed, and internet of things (IoT). As Business Development Manager and a thought leader, you will help grow the opportunity pipeline creation (between 9-12 months), get breakthroughs in the Tier 1 and 2 operators in EMEA, and support Red Hat Consulting team and ecosystem across EMEA.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Generate mid-term pipeline growth (9-12 months) as well as a number of ecosystem Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators in EMEA and hand these over to EMEA sales teams, making sure that they are moved on from the stage of "pipeline" to "best case"
    • Propose and implement tools and KPIs that would allow us to measure success of the TTO team
    • Engage at EMEA and country level with our sales and thought teams to support activities like events, webinars, and publications
    • Participate in the creation of new solutions in anticipation of future Telco needs and create a solid total cost of ownership (TCO) that justifies commercial propositions
    • Communicate between project teams, communities of practice, and product teams to evangelize "5 Telco pillars"
    • Update and create frameworks and processes for customer and consulting teams to deliver solutions
    • Select and preserve knowledge, learnings, and good practices from projects and contribute to the solutions repository

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of experience in sales organizations serving as a business development manager or in a similar sales role in a Telco-supplier company with a strong level of engagement with Tier 1 or 2 operators like Telefonica, Vodafone, Orange, etc.
    • 5+ years of experience in Telco operators with network, product development, and marketing experience
    • Deep domain knowledge and extensive experience with the NFV and software-defined networking (SDN) community and an understanding of how SDN can transform the Telco industry
    • Forward-thinking and strategic view of the Telco industry
    • Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders, understand requirements, and deliver solutions that meet expectations
