    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you'll manage highly technical projects from their initiation and delivery to successful completion and closure, while working with stakeholders from the CEE team on the coordination of cross-functional teams on projects of a diverse scope. You will help to establish an organizational project management discipline and serve as an ambassador and evangelist for the adoption of project management fundamentals, principles, and methodologies throughout the CEE team. As a Project Manager, you’ll need to have a full understanding of industry standard project management practices and be familiar with navigating complex information technology (IT) projects. In addition, you’ll need to have project management experience from complex and global technical organizations, ability to work on ideas with other team members, and passion for motivating employees.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for Red Hat’s CEE projects under minimal direction
    • Manage project requirements, scope, and change management issues
    • Determine, monitor, and review that all project economics include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risks
    • Work with the management to develop project proposals, charters, estimates, and schedules
    • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the projects of the management
    • Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria
    • Develop detailed communications and reporting procedures for projects
    • Manage project change using repeatable methodologies and clear communication with project stakeholders from all levels of the organization
    • Undertake status review meetings among project team members and stakeholders
    • Integrate and use specific industry and company-standard project management (PM) and technical delivery methodologies like the PM methodologies based on Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) standards and the CEE project management life cycle
    • Assist in the training of the project teams on application of appropriate procedures and advise team members on project goals so that schedules are met and both technical and operational issues are resolved
    • Coach and mentor junior-level project managers when necessary

    Required skills

    • 7+ years in a project management role
    • 5+ years directly managing complex technical projects
    • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
    • Proven record of successfully managing agile and waterfall projects in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
    • Experience establishing and contributing to process improvements
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; solid interpersonal and leadership skills and analytical abilities
    • Ability to work effectively across a widely diverse management team and a broad spectrum of internal partners
    • Detail-oriented and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
    • Ability to articulate the program and project management value proposition and be an evangelist for PM techniques and CEE PM methodologies
    • PRINCE2, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Certified Scrum Master, Six Sigma, Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM), or Prosci certification(s) are a plus
    • Experience with DevOps methodologies and techniques
    • Understanding of Linux and Open Source is a plus
