    Job summary

    Perform data analysis and reporting in support of Red Hat's Executive team. The Red Hat Global Business Delivery team is looking for an enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will be responsible for building data reports, presentations, and self-service dashboards and for delivering analysis and actionable insight to the Global Sales and Services (GSS) team. You'll work closely with the GSS Finance team, as well as regional sales and services teams. As a Financial Analyst, you will support the GSS team and will be responsible for developing and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports and dashboards in support of GSS business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Assist in reviewing financial results at the end of each month and quarter
    • Provide an explanation for variances of budget vs. actual and comparative quarters
    • Analyze financial and operational performance and understand underlying trends and market factors
    • Coordinate with other global finance functions to consolidate data for reporting purposes
    • Create financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment and expenses
    • Work with various business functions to review annual financial targets or goals
    • Develop an understanding of Red Hat’s global business model to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis
    • Perform budgeting and forecasting

    Required skills

    • Graduate degree in finance or commerce, preferably an MBA, M.Com, or a master’s degree in business administration or accounting, or a bachelor’s degree from applied accounting and finance concepts background with 5+ years of experience
    • Minor in economics or statistics
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
    • Progressive financial experience, including financial planning and analysis; international experience or a background in a technology field is a plus
    • Demonstrated business insight; ability to think strategically
    • Goal-oriented and motivated; sense of personal accountability
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to interact successfully with senior management
    • Good problem-solving and financial modeling skills in spreadsheets; ability to navigate financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
    • Experience with Hyperion, including Essbase, Smart View, or Planning, is a plus
