    Job summary

    The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join us in Munich or Frankfurt, Germany to serve the Germany and Austria region. In this role, you will manage the development and implementation process of our offerings and services. You'll be responsible for the design and implementation of standard project management processes. As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll need to have excellent communication and organizational skills, as you'll be coordinating projects across teams and ensuring that they are successfully completed and align with schedules, budgets, and delivery plans. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and play a key part in the successful implementation of new or upgraded Red Hat’s solutions.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Understand and interpret technical requirements into successful projects
    • Under minimal direction, guide project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for Red Hat Services projects
    • Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues
    • Determine, monitor, and review all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risks
    • Facilitate development of recommended processes for planning, scheduling, and tracking projects through integration of various project management tools
    • Work with different teams and management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules; participate in the project estimation process
    • Develop a trusted relationship with customers by delivering on business and technical requirements
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activities to complete projects on time and within budget
    • Serve as a trusted advisor for our customers regarding project and escalation management
    • Manage and coordinate the complete bandwidth of project time frames, from small 10-day engagements up to complex projects
    • Support and manage the creation of RFIs and RFPs
    • Cooperate with and contribute to our Global Project Management Office (PMO)

    Required skills

    • Extensive experience as a successful project manager in IT environments
    • Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification; Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is a plus
    • 5+ years of experience working in a project management role managing IT-based projects
    • Experience establishing and contributing to process improvements
    • Familiarity with collaboration tools like Jira, Git, etc.
    • Combination of business and technical background, ideally including open source
    • Experience dealing with complex projects and multicultural or multidisciplinary teams
    • Excellent English and fluent German written and verbal communication skills
    • Willingness to travel regularly
