    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Solutions Sales Specialist for Application Development to join us in London, UK. In this role, you'll grow our application development business by working closely with new and emerging customers to identify the solutions that meet their specific needs. We'll need you to have an excellent combination of sales skills focused on customers, and thorough knowledge of enterprise middleware requirements. As a Solutions Sales Specialist, you'll gain a deep understanding of buyer patterns and needs to uncover new accounts and sell the application development portfolio.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with extended account teams including key account managers, solutions architects, and professional services leads to identify opportunities in existing key accounts; assist with the creation of account plans and carry out strategic plans
    • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships with customers
    • Develop new product strategies to establish proof of value and guide implementations of the Red Hat application development portfolio
    • Assist the Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, and Product Support teams to ensure a premium customer experience

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of experience in a solutions sales role, with 4+ of those years in enterprise middleware and application development
    • Background in consultative customer engagement with a major middleware software company, or within the sales division of a middleware software reseller
    • Broad understanding of enterprise middleware technologies like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, or Oracle WebLogic
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the experience presenting to C-level executives at large companies
    • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple products and services
    • Ability to work with global cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Excellent balance of strategic and tactical skills
