    Job summary

    The Red Hat Services team is looking for a Senior Middleware Consultant to join us in the Nordic region. In this role, you'll guide small to medium-sized project teams and ensure the quality of customer deliverables. You will apply well-developed consulting, business, and process expertise in your quality work, as well as actively coach and mentor others while building good customer relationships. As a Senior Middleware Consultant, you'll apply your knowledge of design, development, and testing to oversee the implementation of the solutions developed or recommended. We'll need you to apply open source best practices and participate in planning sessions and informal training. Red Hat Consulting offers more than just technical expertise. As part of our team, you will help customers quickly and strategically achieve value while building enterprise-wide capabilities.     Primary job responsibilities

    • Make recommendations and act as a trusted adviser; assist project and technical managers in setting and delivering on expectations throughout the client engagement
    • Gain an understanding of the structure and capabilities of the Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio, as well as select third-party technologies
    • Explain Red Hat's key business messages to technical and management audiences to provide a complete solution
    • Understand the risks and benefits of implementing a Red Hat-based solution that fits customer requirements and existing investments
    • Explain complex technical issues to sales teams, non-technical client associates and management, technical peers in Engineering and Support, as well as client technicians and engineers
    • Successfully handle difficult one-on-one conversations and communicate sensitive or controversial messages effectively
    • Understand the relationship between Consulting and other Red Hat teams like Sales or Support; be sensitive to internal and external communications
    • Guide presentations for customer-facing, general public, and internal audiences
    • Assist project managers with project-related recommendations; assist with technical aspects of projects

    Required skills

    • Experience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projects on-site
    • Knowledge of and technical expertise with 2+ middleware solutions from Red Hat's portfolio
    • Knowledge of middleware and Java EE outside of Red Hat JBoss Middleware, e.g. experience with IBM WebSphere or Oracle WebLogic application servers
    • Demonstrated advanced software engineering, design, and development capabilities
    • Ability to structure a project and environment to succeed in an enterprise development effort
    • Ability to architect and design complex and workable solutions for challenging customer middleware use cases
    • Demonstrated expertise in continuous integration practices
    • Knowledge of the Red Hat JBoss integration portfolio, including Red Hat JBoss Fuse or Red Hat JBoss A-MQ, is a plus
    • Experience with high-performance Java applications and optimization techniques is a plus
