    Job summary

    The Red Hat OpenShift Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer with passion for open source software to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will make a difference in offerings used by thousands of people around the world and help build Red Hat OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), a system built on container technology and the Kubernetes cluster management system that is changing how development is done. You'll be responsible for all aspects of quality for Red Hat OpenShift, including designing test plans, extending existing automation frameworks, and developing new automated tests for both back and front ends. As a Quality Engineer, you will gain deep understanding of a variety of popular technologies including containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop automation frameworks and scripts with Ruby or Golang for automation testing and execution
    • Participate in the planning processes for tests and our offerings
    • Conduct new feature research and design test cases
    • Carry out manual tests and deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
    • Document and advocate for the resolution of new bugs with developers and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support
    • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
    • Communicate with other globally distributed quality engineers and developers working on Red Hat OpenShift
    • Work in a fast-paced environment

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent in computer science or a related field
    • 2+ years of experience in QE
    • Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques
    • Knowledge of the UNIX or Linux operating environments
    • Programming language skills in shell, Ruby, or Go
    • Motivated and dedicated to learning and collaboration
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Familiarity with virtualization, container technology, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat OpenShift is a plus
    • Contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples are a plus
