    Job summary

    The Red Hat U.K. Consulting team is looking for a Labs Engagement Lead to join us in the U.K. and Ireland region. The role is closely aligned to our Open Innovation Labs team and you will help our customers adopt modern delivery software practices using Red Hat technologies. You will use a variety of modern application development practices, along with emerging technologies from the communities of open source, working together with consulting engineers and customers in small teams to build, test, and iterate over innovative application prototypes attached to real business value. Working either on client site using our Open Innovation Lab Agile practices or within the London lab itself, you will find yourself in a diverse role where you’ll be the heartbeat of a Labs residency, coaching and nurturing novice customers, help guide delivery using agile practices on client site, or cooperate with the wider internal and external community through defining and updating our ways of working. You’ll also be involved in the wider transformation our customers are going through, acting as the catalyst of these transformations. As a Labs Engagement Lead, you'll support everything from the selling and scoping of Open Innovation Labs residencies and projects to guiding the delivery team’s implementation of these projects, ensuring customer success. Throughout the life cycle of a residency or project, you will have control and oversight from kickoff to closeout, determining scope details and monitoring the project's progress to ensure it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Support presales and scope consulting solutions
    • Support sales and business development for the Open Innovation Labs
    • Handle change management and escalations
    • Work with internal stakeholders to gain internal statement of work approval and delivery
    • Create efficient and qualitative proposals for customers, ensuring all needs are defined through analyzing the customer environment and expectations
    • Build interpersonal relationships with other Red Hat teams and serve as a trusted adviser to major Red Hat customers; engage with and influence C-level executives
    • Formulate detailed business cases for how an organization can achieve its business goals by embracing agility
    • Integrate creative and innovative ways to position a strategic direction
    • Shape and motivate customers to embrace Red Hat’s open approach as a means of transforming not only what they do, but how they do it
    • Innovate on our current thinking and develop new approaches to change how organizations and teams deliver software and systems
    • Coach teams of Agile coaches, developers, and testers to embrace Agile methodologies Identify and resolve impediments and track continuous improvement
    • Work with customers on initiatives to support agile transformations across business teams
    • Serve as the Agile project manager for Open Innovation Labs residencies, including residency planning and management, team management, process management and improvement, team building, and customer support and coaching
    • Coach customers to create solutions vision and roadmap, write effective user stories, prioritize backlog based on business value, and track value points in sprints
    • Support teams in converting existing product requirement documents to Jira product backlog

    Required skills

    • Understanding of the Red Hat business strategy and economic model; good business insight and judgment
    • Demonstrated expertise in sales or sales support of professional services, including developing statements of work, pricing, large-scale proposal development, and customer development
    • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant
    • Knowledge of project management processes and experience with revenue-based project reporting
    • 5+ years of experience as senior Scrum master with a Scrum coaching mentality in a fully agile environment with an organisation that ships software
    • Solid experience in using Agile project management tools and methods
    • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to management and C-Level executives
    • Established and sustainable network of customer relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to understand technical impact of projects from supportability, scalability, and repeatability aspects and the business impact on both Red Hat and our customers in delivering and scoping projects
    • Willingness to travel up to 75%
    • Bachelor's degree or MBA is preferred
