    Job summary

    The Red Hat UK and Ireland Open Innovation Labs (OIL) team is looking for an Engagement Lead to join our Consulting team. In this role, you will be responsible for the Open Innovation Labs business in the UK and Ireland.

    The Open Innovation Labs is all about customers learning to build software the open source way and adopt the principles behind open organizations. We have opened the doors to our open culture and created an environment designed to stimulate innovation in an intensive, immersive fashion; we use open source principles and apply them to either rapidly build new software or modernize existing applications, creating tangible business outcomes and high performing teams. You will work with small cross-functional customer teams matched 1:1 with Red Hat experts to accelerate application development and DevOps cultural adoption, which is at the heart of digital transformation. You will be the heartbeat of an OIL residency as an experienced Agile coach who have lead agile transformations and can coach and nurture fledgling product owners. You'll not only act as the Agile project manager in our residencies but be also involved in the wider transformation our customers are going through. Our residencies serve as the catalyst of these transformations so you should feel comfortable talking to C-level executives about how we can support their business goals as well running workshops and putting together strategic proposals that support these transformation initiatives. You'll support everything from the selling and scoping of OIL residencies and projects to leading the delivery team's implementation, ensuring customer success. Throughout the life cycle of a residency or project, you will have control and oversight from kickoff to closeout, including determining scope details and monitoring the project's progress to ensure it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Support presales and scope consulting solutions
    • Support sales and business development for the Open Innovation Labs
    • Handle change management and escalations
    • Work with internal stakeholders to gain internal statement of work approval and delivery
    • Create efficient and qualitative proposals for customers, ensuring all needs are defined through analyzing the customer environment and expectations
    • Build interpersonal relationships with other Red Hat teams and serve as a trusted adviser to major Red Hat customers; engage with and influence C-level executives
    • Formulate detailed business cases for how an organization can achieve its business goals by embracing agility
    • Integrate creative and innovative ways to position a strategic direction
    • Shape and motivate customers to embrace Red Hat’s open approach as a means of transforming not only what they do, but how they do it
    • Coach our internal team, including PMs, to greater understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, supporting sharing the Open Innovation Labs practices across consulting team members
    • Innovate on our current thinking and develop new approaches to change how organizations and teams deliver software and systems
    • Coach teams of Agile coaches, developers, and testers to embrace Agile methodologies; identify and resolve impediments and track continuous improvement
    • Work with customers on initiatives to support agile transformations across business teams
    • Coach product owners to create solutions vision and roadmap, write effective user stories, prioritize backlog based on business value, and track value points in sprints
    • Support teams in converting existing product requirement documents to Jira product backlog
    • Plan and manage residency, as well as the team, processes and their improvement

    Required skills

    • Understanding of the Red Hat business strategy and economic model; good business insight and judgment
    • Direct, working experience in people management through managing a team, including a successful track record in talent development within the team
    • Demonstrated expertise in sales or sales support of professional services, including developing statements of work, pricing, large-scale proposal development, and customer development
    • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant
    • Knowledge of project management processes and experience with revenue-based project reporting
    • 5+ years of experience as senior Scrum Master with a Scrum coaching mentality in a fully agile environment with an organisation that ships software
    • Solid experience delivering projects using Agile or Kanban methodology
    • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to management and C-Level executives
    • Established and sustainable network of customer relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to understand technical impact of projects from supportability, scalability, and repeatability aspects and the business impact on both Red Hat and our customers in delivering and scoping projects
    • Willingness to travel weekly to client locations throughout the UK and Ireland and the availability to occasionally support the Labs business in EMEA
    • Bachelor's degree or MBA is preferred
