    Job summary

    Join the WildFly Application Server and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) core development team. The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you’ll maintain and implement new features for the WildFly and EAP application server. You will work together with the project architect, the security integration lead, and the other core developers and respond to both community and product related feature requests. You will also work with our internal support team to assist them solving customer issues. You’ll be expected to commit and stick to a schedule for the product version.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with the JBoss community on the development of the WildFly Application Server project and downstream on the development and maintenance of the Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform
    • Work with our support team and assist them solving customer cases regarding application server security
    • Work closely with the security subsystem and integration lead on security related functionality and on project Elytron
    • Work with other projects that integrate with WildFly and assist them integrating with the server’s security APIs and SPIs
    • Work with both internal and external teams with regard to achieving security related certifications required by our customers when using our solutions
    • Respond to feature enhancement and bug fixing requests, adhere to project and product roadmaps and deliverables
    • Advocate WildFly to the JBoss and the wider Java developer community

    Required skills

    • Proficient in the Java programming language
    • Good understanding of Java EE technologies and application servers
    • Motivated and able to work on your own in a distributed, fast-paced, and multicultural environment with little guidance
    • Experience working with security related APIs and SPIs either in a Java or Java EE environment

    The following will be considered a plus:

    • Experience on WildFly or JBoss EAP
    • Exposure to open source development and distributed development teams
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; engineering or computer science background is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience   
    • Contributions to the WildFly project or subprojects
