    Job summary

    Become one of the professionals selected for our Incubation Program, who will be trained in the U.S. and then participate in projects throughout Latin America to enable the local Emerging Technology Practice. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Automation and Management Consultant to join our Ansible by Red Hat team in Mexico City, Mexico. In this role, you will passionately guide and promote the adoption of Red Hat's solutions in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies, and service provider partners. Through a series of interactions both in-person and remote, you’ll win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development, and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of our solutions. As a Senior Automation and Management Consultant, you’ll need to have thorough working knowledge and direct experience with Ansible by Red Hat, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and other technologies in the same area. You’ll also need to have a solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools and how they can be applied within an organization. Prefered location is Mexico City, however candidates from other cities will also be taken into consideration.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as an Ansible by Red Hat subject matter expert at the customer site
    • Deliver and support the deployment of Red Hat Ansible Automation for enterprises
    • Design, create, and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to design, service, and support our automation solutions at scale

    Required skills

    • Good written and verbal language skills in English; interviews will be held mostly in this language
    • Willingness to travel frequently to customer locations internationally and in the United States (where the training will be held)
    • Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
    • 8+ years of experience in a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or architect consulting delivery role
    • 4+ years of experience focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures
    • Solid background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization, or within the services division of a major software company
    • Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
    • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services
    • Proven ability to work seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Solid balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of mental agility and capacity for original thought
    • Ability to study on your own and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
    • Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation
    • Intermediate-level scripting skills in Bash or Python


    The following are considered a plus:


    • Experience implementing a continuous integration (CI) or continuous delivery (CD) pipeline
    • Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
    • Container management and orchestration tools
    • Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
    • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities via email and IRC
    • Experience working in a quality assurance (QA) role or with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools
    • Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud and hypervisor) and operating system level
    • Portuguese is a plus
