    Job summary

    Become one of the professionals selected for our Incubation Program, who will be trained in the U.S. and then participate in projects throughout Latin America to enable the local Emerging Technology Practice.  The Red Hat Ansible Consulting team is looking for an Automation Architect. Guide the adoption of Red Hat's solution in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies and service provider partners. The Red Hat Ansible Consulting team is looking for an Automation Architect to join us in Mexico City. In this role, you’ll interact both in-person and remote with customer engineering, development, and operations teams to win the trust and confidence by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of the solution. You will have a thorough working knowledge and practical experience with Ansible, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space. We’ll expect you to have deep understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools and how they can be applied within an organization. You will also play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat’s solutions business units, product engineering, support, professional services, and sales, to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. As an Automation Architect, you’ll act as a customer advocate with these organizations to architect the right solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. Prefered location is Mexico City, however candidates from other cities will also be taken into consideration.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Deliver successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions
    • Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments
    • Design, create, and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell, service, and support our cloud solutions at scale
    • Work closely with product business units, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat’s solutions
    • Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk
    • Demonstrate thought leadership in DevOps community by producing excellent whitepapers, webinars, code contributions to relevant projects, and speaking at industry leading conferences

    Required skills

    • Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
    • 8+ years of experience as a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or in an architect consulting delivery role with a solution sales mentality
    • 4+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures
    • Background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization, or within the services division of a major software company
    • Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
    • Ability to work with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of creativity and passion for open source software, tooling, and automation
    • Intermediate level of scripting using Bash and Python

    The following are considered a plus:

    • Experience implementing a continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipeline
    • Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
    • Knowledge of container management and orchestration tools   
    • Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
    • Experience working in a quality assurance role, or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools
    • Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure, including cloud and hypervisor, and operating system level
    • Portuguese is a plus
