    Job summary

    The OpenShift Engineering Automated Release Tooling team is looking for a Software Engineer to establish our operations presence in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work as a member of a small team responsible for creating, operating, improving, and maintaining the systems used to build, test, and release OpenShift. You’ll become deeply familiar with the build system to ensure that product releases and critical fixes are delivered on time to customers. You will identify areas of improvement by thoroughly analyzing build results and later create instrumentation for automatic error and latency discovery. We're looking for people who are eager to grow in a supportive environment, and excited to learn the skills required for success. You'll need to be smart, friendly, motivated, collaborative, curious, and passionate about process improvement and automation.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Operate build systems
    • Investigate, debug, and provide guidance for fixing failing builds
    • Integrate new components into build system
    • Support Quality Engineering teams
    • Support Development team’s testing builds
    • Demo automation improvements
    • Document build processes

    Required skills

    • Solid proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Fedora Linux based operating systems
    • Experience on Jenkins pipelines
    • Experience working with and debugging complex interconnected systems
    • Proficient in building Python CLI applications
    • Experience with Git and working in teams on GitHub
    • Experience with the Golang programming language is an advantage
    • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes and writing Dockerfiles is a big plus
