    Job summary

    The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Middleware Consultant to join us in the Nordic region. In this role, you will offer more than just technical expertise, you'll serve as a strategic adviser who takes the big picture view and helps customers analyze and overcome their challenges with comprehensive, cost-effective solutions. You'll help scope and build solutions based on exciting open source technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Red Hat Fuse (including Apache Camel), and Red Hat AMQ built on Apache ActiveMQ. This role can be based in Denmark, Finland, or Sweden with frequent travel to customer sites.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as the subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing the technical, developmental, or strategic IT requirements
    • Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
    • Work on problems of a diverse scope that require data analysis
    • Understand industry best practices and Red Hat's policies and procedures
    • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods to obtain solutions
    • Communicate effectively and reach out to the team

    Required skills

    • Practical experience using middleware, preferably Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) or Red Hat Fuse; IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) or Oracle WebLogic Server Enterprise Edition will also be considered
    • Java programming experience using modern development technologies and methodologies
    • Consulting experience is preferred, although the role could be suitable for a Java developer or engineer
    • Knowledge and awareness of event-driven systems and enterprise integration patterns
    • Problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
    • Awareness of current and upcoming technology trends
    • Willingness to travel 50-80% across the Nordic region
    • Fluent language skills in English
    • Eligibility to work in the Nordic region

    The following are considered a plus:


    • Experience with API Management
    • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
    • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
