    Job summary

    Lead the growth and development of Red Hat's financial services industry (FSI) business in New South Wales. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an experienced Senior Account Solutions Architect to join us in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be the catalyst who creates opportunities, solves problems, and establishes trusted relationships with our financial services customers and partners. You'll discover and analyze our customers' business and technical needs and collaborate with the sales and technical delivery teams to help customers invest wisely in the most appropriate solutions from Red Hat. As a Senior Account Solutions Architect, you’ll need to have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be a crucial part of the experience our customers have with Red Hat. You’ll also need to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and of thorough understanding of business drivers and IT problems faced by enterprise customers. In the evangelist part of the role, you may be asked to speak at events and technical forums to everyone from CIOs to user groups about Red Hat’s solutions. This job requires an appetite for learning, motivation, and good time management to achieve Red Hat's goals. The position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Provide timely presales technical support to the sales team through development of compelling proposals that solve customer business problems
    • Identify Red Hat’s solutions for FSI-specific problems and workloads
    • Use your knowledge of Red Hat’s solutions to provide technical expertise to sales associates, customers, and partners through sales presentations, customer workshops, demonstrations of our offerings, evaluations, and proofs of concepts
    • Research and write responses to technical sections of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
    • Demonstrate ownership of the technical relationships and technical sales cycle within a set of named accounts in your territory
    • Communicate value, progress, and status of sales opportunities to all stakeholders
    • Ensure that revenue and new business quotas and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among existing and prospective customers

    Required skills

    • 7+ years of experience as a UNIX, Linux, or virtual infrastructure engineer
    • 5+ years of experience as a sales engineer, consultant, IT architect, or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts
    • 3+ years of FSI experience
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
    • Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures
    • Excellent knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat’s platform offerings including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite
    • Excellent knowledge of virtualization platforms like Red Hat Virtualization, KVM, VMware, and Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Understanding of and experience with public cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Compute Engine
    • Understanding of modern methodologies like agile development and DevOps and associated capabilities like automation, orchestration, and configuration management
    • Knowledge of technologies like clustering, directory services, and identity management
    • Proficiency in programming languages like Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java is a plus
    • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are a plus
