    Job summary

    The Red Hat Middleware Engineering team is looking for an experienced Manager to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be responsible for a Bangalore-based team of junior and experienced engineers delivering components for several Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions, based on popular open source projects that provide capabilities both on premise and in the cloud. You'll work within the context a wider geographically distributed team, immersing yourself in the day-to-day work of the team, responding to the needs of the team, and facilitating coaching and career development for the engineers on your direct team. As a Manager, you'll need to have a record of leading a team of highly skilled developers, solid knowledge of agile development processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide technical discussions with architects and business teams. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community who are founders and committers on major open source projects.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Build a high-performing team by recruiting and retaining staff in Bangalore
    • Serve as a people manager for your team with responsibility for establishing objectives, providing feedback, fostering career development, and providing active coaching of associates
    • Work with product management and engineering teams to develop technology roadmaps and schedules and communicate these schedules
    • Serve as a Scrum master and Scrum coach for your team with responsibility for the planning, implementation, and delivery of tasks
    • Organize sprint planning meetings, end-of-sprint demos, and retrospectives
    • Promote agile best practices among the teams and guide positive change within systems and processes by monitoring what works well and by identifying areas for improvement
    • Work with cross-functional managers and teams on documentation, product management, and quality engineering to coordinate tasks necessary for releasing enterprise quality software

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of experience in Salesforce (SDLC)
    • Experience managing a team of 10+ people and mentoring technical teams of 10-12 people
    • Good listening, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Understanding end-to-end architecture and the big picture; ability to provide scope and solution approach to business problems
