    Job summary

    Search for, analyze, report, and track defects and verify bug fixes for our mobile solutions. The Red Hat Mobile team is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join us in Waterford, Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of quality for mobile offerings, including the definition of acceptance criteria and developing new automated tests for APIs, GUIs, performance, and platform testing. You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry while serving as an internal advocate for our customers, including mobile developers, system administrators, and IT managers. As an Associate Quality Engineer, you’ll need to have excellent communication, technical, and creative thinking skills, as you'll be encouraged to develop innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis using agile methodologies.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work and communicate with a distributed team
    • Advocate for quality and define acceptance criteria of new features
    • Develop tests and verify hybrid and native Android and iOS mobile applications
    • Automate provisioning of testing infrastructure and participate in continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) DevOps efforts
    • Clearly document new bugs and advocate for their resolution with developers
    • Research, develop, and implement mobile test automation tools and frameworks

    Required skills

    • Experience with programming in JavaScript; knowledge of Node.js is a plus
    • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication skills working with geographically distributed teams
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a growing and evolving team environment
    • Passion for refining the quality of Red Hat’s solutions by understanding the mobile platform, functions, and capabilities
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
    • Previous experience with agile methodology or cloud and mobile solutions is a big plus
