    Job summary

    The Red Hat Factory 2.0 team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work with some of the brightest engineers in the open source community to create innovative solutions for the next generation operating system. You'll join a team that works on Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) changes to the "build-to-release" pipeline. As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll need to have an interest in Linux software development in Python and experience with the Fedora project or another Linux distribution.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Research and develop various components for Factory 2.0 project; these components include infrastructure components, tools related to user experience with modular OS, and integration components with the rest of the Red Hat ecosystem, etc.
    • Collaborate with internal and external developers to provide high quality code and well-integrated solutions
    • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment

    Required skills

    • Understanding of what makes up a typical Linux system
    • 1+ years of experience in Linux development with languages like Python, C, or C++
    • Experience with Git source control systems and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) concepts
    • Interest in open source software and development
    • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Experience developing network-based or client-server applications is a plus
