    Job summary

    The Red Hat Application Development Center of Excellence is looking for a Consultant to join us in Waterford, Ireland. This is a great opportunity to work on new and existing large enterprise-based services engagements.

    In this role, you will work as part of a team which develops software solutions and mobile applications using a modern technologies and Agile methodologies and practices, like Kubernetes, Node.js, Java, microservices, React, Scrum, Kanban, user story mapping, event storming and a variety Red Hat middleware solutions. You'll be a key member of the delivery team within an Agile project methodology.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Collaborate with project and client team members to meet timelines and goals
    • Work with modern application development practices and open source emerging technologies
    • Work with senior associates to increase adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve software delivery, including business-IT alignment, infrastructure and application uptime and availability, and time-to-market
    • Mentor and transfer knowledge to clients

    Required skills

    • Level 3 qualification in computer science or related discipline
    • 2-3 years of practical Java programming experience including designing and implementing Java or JEE solutions with a focus on service-oriented architecture (SOA), messaging, and business rules
    • Demonstrated record working with major middleware technology
    • Experience using modern development methodologies, including Agile and continuous integration (CI)
    • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), preferably OpenShift by Red Hat
    • Web services and API Integration experience
    • Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders among both technical and business audiences
    • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
    • Ability to travel to customer sites
