    Job summary

    Help us increase Red Hat’s market share and revenue, selling primarily to the finance sector. The Red Hat Field Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager with experience selling high-tech solutions and services to join us in Wellington or Auckland, New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for building new relationships and expanding and improving business with existing customers. You’ll need to be comfortable working with partner sales and services organizations and IT and business executives and to have extensive experience developing and carrying out sales plans. Your success as a Sales Account Manager will be measured by your ability to meet quantitative and qualitative performance goals and high standards set for articulation and presentation of key messages and the Red Hat value proposition.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Successfully sell our solutions and services in an assigned territory
    • Create strategic and tactical sales plans and lead the extended Sales team in carrying them out to maximize revenue and growth
    • Meet an assigned sales quota by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growing existing relationships
    • Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals

    Required skills

    • Understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate comprehensive technological strategies to a wide range of decision-makers within an organization, including technical, business, and C-level audiences
    • Strategic mindset with a successful record of developing account strategies
    • Proactive, direct approach toward offerings, markets, and customer business challenges
    • Proven record of success in sales with a history of meeting or exceeding targets
    • Experience selling complex IT solutions to large organizations and multiple decision-makers
    • Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to an ever-changing work environment
    • Knowledgeable and passionate about information technologies, especially open source
    • Willingness to travel up to 25%
