    Job summary

    Come work in an innovative and direct consultancy -focused practice. Red Hat’s Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Consultancy team is looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our DevOps-focused Open Innovation Labs and Architecture practice in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will analyze customer needs and capabilities and deliver the architectural roadmaps designed to achieve customer goals. You’ll guide the adoption of Red Hat's offerings in our key accounts, serving as a customer advocate to deliver the right end-to-end solutions and to ensure that these solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. As an Enterprise Architect, you will interact with key business stakeholders and C-level executives. You’ll need to be passionate about understanding the customer goals, elaborating our value propositions and communicating our solutions to achieve customer business objectives. You’ll run workshops and discovery sessions and put together strategic proposals that support these transformational initiatives.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Play a lead architect role during the early stages of the Open Innovation Labs or Architecture engagements build-out within ANZ
    • Develop and present vision, strategy, and roadmaps to executives, technical management, engineers, and operators concerning solutions to their business problems and their organizational transformation
    • Provide technical leadership to customers and partners regarding all aspects of Red Hat’s offerings
    • Support presales post-sales field teams during workshops, proofs of concepts, pilots, and production deployments
    • Ensure successful architecture and deployment of enterprise-grade Platform-as-a-Solution (PaaS) solutions as well as proper operation during discovery, design, and implementation
    • Actively contribute to and guide the creation of reference architectures, design considerations, and best practices and changing DevOps emerging technology portfolio
    • Position Open Innovations Labs with customers and present the value proposition, helping guide customers toward active engagements
    • Support and manage complex projects, workshops, and agile delivery
    • Maintain deep practical technical knowledge of containers and application infrastructure, architectures, and development solutions
    • Assist in the development of standard reusable consulting service offerings, including the definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates
    • Maintain working knowledge of competitive Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings and solutions requirements
    • Develop, evangelize, and enable services methodology, best practices, and technical content on DevOps and emerging offerings that result in high customer satisfaction and supportability

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of experience in a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or consulting architect role
    • Solid knowledge of and operational expertise in agile and DevOps
    • Proven experience architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
    • Experience in technology strategic planning and enterprise architecture initiatives
    • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings like OpenShift by Red Hat, Docker, Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar
    • Experience with different software architecture approaches like SOA, microservices, event-driven architecture (EDA), API management, web-scale architecture, and monolithic and distributed architecture
    • Proven experience in software development, including languages, systems and frameworks like Java, Ruby on Rails, Go, messaging (ActiveMQ, JMS), SQL, NoSQL, and Hadoop
    • Clear understanding of cloud service and deployment models
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
    • Solid balance of strategic and tactical skills; high level of mental agility, problem-solving, and capacity for original thought
    • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities via email and IRC
    • Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation
    • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer locations throughout ANZ and with occasional global travel
    • Experience across one or more vertical industry areas is a plus
