    Job summary

    Tackle interesting problems across a new technology. The Red Hat Support team is looking for a skilled engineer to join our Quay team as a Technical Support Engineer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this role you will support customers of Quay, which is a container registry that stores, builds, analyzes, and distributes container images and an established, market-leading solution with both Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premise offerings that are used and loved by customers around the world. You’ll partner closely with Red Hat’s development teams and work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will get an opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing enterprise software and services companies and the leader of open source software.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Understand, troubleshoot, and debug customer issues to ensure that customers are able to get full value from Red Hat's Quay and OpenShift by Red Hat offerings
    • Guide customer-facing support cases to resolution, exceed customer expectations, and provide outstanding customer service
    • Maintain technical knowledge of all aspects of our technology and market
    • Share your knowledge gained from troubleshooting issues by contributing to the global Red Hat knowledge management system
    • Maintain a commitment to providing the best experience possible for Red Hat’s customers

    Required skills

    • Knowledge of OpenShift by Red Hat, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container tools, containers and container orchestration, Ruby, Python or Bash, JavaScript and Go ecosystems, N-tier web applications, and relational databases and SQL
    • Experience with HTTP and Web Servers (NGINX)
    • Experience with SSL/TLS certificates
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and single page applications and distributed source control tools like Git or Mercurial
    • Exceptional software troubleshooting skills
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
    • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new languages and technologies
    • Fluent written and verbal skills in English
    • Upstream involvement in open source projects like patches submitted for upstream inclusion is a plus
