    Job summary

    Red Hat's Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for an experienced and highly skilled support engineer to join us as a Technical Account Manager in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In this role, you will provide support for enterprise customers who want the deepest possible technical relationship with Red Hat JBoss in order to maximize their return on a significant investment in Red Hat and Red Hat JBoss Middleware technology. You’ll serve as a consistent technical point of contact for Red Hat JBoss Middleware that understands ongoing technology requirements of our customers. As a Technical Account Manager, you will cultivate highly personalized support relationships with customers and gain understanding of their IT infrastructures, internal processes, and overall business needs. You'll tailor support for the customer environments, advocate on their behalf, and facilitate collaboration with their other vendors. You’ll also help debug, quantify, and test issues escalated by customers for the entire Red Hat JBoss Middleware family of offerings and partner closely with associates in our Engineering R&D, Product Management, and Global Support teams.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Perform technical reviews and provide knowledge sharing to proactively identify and prevent issues
    • Gain understanding of customer technical infrastructures, environments, hardware, and offerings
    • Perform initial or secondary investigations and respond to online and phone support requests
    • Deliver key Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio roadmap updates and assist customers with upgrades
    • Provide advice and guidance to customers about their current and future Red Hat JBoss Middleware offerings
    • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
    • Serve as a customer advocate within Red Hat
    • Travel as necessary to visit customers

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline; computer science or engineering are a plus
    • 5+ years of professional Java (JEE) coding skills honed through extensive commercial experience
    • Deep knowledge of the JEE platform
    • Direct experience with the Java application platform and application server technologies like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, and Oracle WebLogic
    • Solid understanding of Java programming APIs and popular Java frameworks
    • Experience in a support, development, engineering, or quality assurance (QA) organization
    • Proven ability and willingness to learn new open source middleware technologies
    • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects while maintaining a high level of detail
    • Ability to effectively manage and grow existing enterprise customer and partner relationships by delivering excellent support
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to convey information to customers in a clear and concise manner
    • Language skills in English


    The following are considered a plus:

     

    • Red Hat JBoss Middleware certification
    • Active or history of participation within the open source community
    • Experience with training or presentation delivery
