    Job summary

    The Red Hat IT Infrastructure Support and Operations team is looking for a Systems and Network Administrator to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will provide essential support for Red Hat's critical IT infrastructure, applications, and core services utilizing modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) tools and methodologies. You will ensure continuous and optimized operation and provisioning of IT systems and network infrastructure, virtualization, public and private cloud, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), authentication and authorization, data storage, enterprise systems management and monitoring. You will respond to and resolve incidents and alerts, fulfill service and change request tickets, and assist in process improvement, documentation and automation.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Participate in a 24/7 global support model around deployment, maintenance, monitoring, response, and capacity planning for business-critical systems and infrastructure
    • Collaborate daily with globally distributed team members and other engineering and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests
    • Follow company policies and processes while completing technical tasks and implementing technical solutions
    • Provide on-call coverage during working hours as part of a rotation, as well as periodic rostered and planned on-call support on weekends
    • Identify, document, and assist in the automation of procedures and processes
    • Work closely with the ITSM teams to guide systems integration and automation, data quality improvements and governance activities
    • Advance innovation through use of Red Hat technologies that are new or still in the product development pipeline
    • Travel when necessary to another Red Hat office for assigned work, meetings, or training

    Required skills

    • 3+ years of experience in Linux or UNIX system administration and network administration, supporting production systems and core utility services in an enterprise environment
    • Understanding of and professional experience across key system and network administration areas:
      • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization, Puppet and Ansible, Git and Gitlab, Network equipment and appliances, Jenkins
      • OpenShift by Red Hat, Docker, and Kubernetes
      • Amazon Web Services (AWS) and OpenStack
      • NetApp and Red Hat Gluster Storage
    • High level of ethics and computer security practices to handle confidential company data
    • Demonstrated experience participating in projects or coordinating the efforts of those in a globally distributed team
    • Significant experience developing scripts and automating tasks with shell, scripting, and software development languages like Perl, Ruby or Python; experience integrating multiple information systems using SOAP or REST APIs is a big plus
    • Familiarity with ITSM and ITIL methodology, including CMDB, incident, problem, and change management; previous developing experience with ServiceNow is a big plus
    • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications are an advantage
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)-level skills are a plus
