    Job summary

    Manage the request for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) response process, collating internal stakeholders’ approval, establishing project timelines, and communicating project details to the relevant internal stakeholders within Red Hat. The Red Hat Asia Pacific (APAC) Deal Desk team is looking for a Senior RFI and RFP Analyst to join us in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of managing proposal requests driven by the Sales team to ensure successful outcomes. You’ll initiate the process, manage schedules of milestones and sprints, maintain risk and issue logs, draft commercially acceptable responses (including commercial terms negotiations), complete regular internal and external status reports, and complete project-closing activities. As a Senior RFI and RFP Analyst, you will serve as a key business partner and trusted advisor who works with various subject matter experts from the Legal, Finance, Product Management, Solutions Architecture, and Services teams to complete the responses. You’ll manage several concurrent projects and assist in maintaining the Qvidian response database. You’ll also focus on sharing best practices to optimize financial outcomes for the Red Hat’s both quarterly and annual fiscal cycles.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Review RFI and RFP requests to ensure initial understanding of customer requirements
    • Serve as a point of contact for and work closely with sales managers, solutions architects, product management, and finance, legal, and marketing teams to gain additional information in creating and delivering competitive, quality proposals
    • Create and compile RFI and RFP response content using Qvidian and other company resources, reviewing content with the Sales team and relevant subject matter experts
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policy and RFI and RFP management processes and guidelines
    • Develop competitive proposals for identified opportunities or strategic local, regional, or global key accounts
    • Ensure that timely, accurate, and quality responses are delivered in the final submission to the account representative or directly to the customers and channel partners
    • Manage RFI and RFP projects, creating project timelines and ensuring adherence to schedule
    • Maintain accuracy of grammar, spelling, and punctuation and format text, pictures, graphics, etc., for aesthetics, quality, and adherence to RFI and RFP specifications
    • Provide document quality and editorial input throughout the process
    • Capture, maintain, and refresh reusable content
    • Conduct post mortem reporting and analysis for bid and tender feedback, success stories, or unsuccessful bids and tenders with key stakeholders and relevant functions
    • Contribute to structuring large strategic opportunities and assigned Deal Desk process improvement, projects, and reporting when needed

    Required skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, business management, or a related field
    • 5 years of prior knowledge of and relevant experience with responding to RFIs and RFPs, preferably in the IT industry or with a multinational corporation; familiarity with bid and tender management
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Proven skills in negotiation, analysis, logic, problem-solving, crisis management, and leadership
    • Excellent project management skills with proven ability to lead and manage without direct authority
    • Ability to identify and analyze problems using sound judgement and creativity and determine solutions in order to effectively resolve issues
    • Detail-oriented and motivated; ability to build and maintain solid relationships with various internal customers across a globally diverse large organization
    • Familiarity with operations, order processing, fulfilment, revenue recognition, legal contracts, purchase orders, and license agreements
    • Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities; ability to establish goals and action plans, set realistic timetables, and monitor progress toward completion in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC), Qvidian, or Oracle is a plus
    • Language and persuasive writing skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese are a plus
