    Job summary

    The Red Hat Training team is looking for a Technical DevOps Curriculum Developer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this highly technical role, you will create and maintain our curriculum of Red Hat’s customer-facing and self-paced technical training courses covering the full range of Red Hat middleware solutions. We’ll expect you to be knowledgeable in microservices development, particularly in a containerized environment and in a DevOps setting. We will need you to serve as the subject matter expert and author for the development of courses, so you will need previous experience as a technical developer or consultant. The ideal candidate will be excited to work on new and evolving software, getting an early look at the latest Red Hat technology.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Design and develop practical labs including writing microservices and deploying them in containerized environments
    • Apply experience as a software developer to write narrative and real-world context
    • Serve as the subject matter expert ensuring that courseware is relevant to the needs of our customers
    • Learn new skills and technologies quickly

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of programming experience that includes the following:
      • At least 1 year of experience developing microservices
      • At least 1 year of experience working with Red Hat's Application Platform Portfolio tools like Camel (Java Integration Framework), CXF (WebService/REST Tooling engine), Karaf (Multi-Technology OSGI Container), ServiceMix (ESB platform), Spring/Spring Boot; NodeJ and Vert.x are a plus
      • At least 3 years of Java EE programming experience, including 1+ year(s) of experience using Java EE 7
    • Experience deploying applications in a containerized environment using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift by Red Hat
    • Experience deploying applications in Red Hat JBoss EAP or other application servers
    • Experience working in an agile team using life cycle development tools and processes like git and GitHub, Jenkins, and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Excellent communications skills including the ability to work with a global team in multiple time zones

    The following are considered a plus:

    • Experience with either curriculum development or with writing technical documentation
    • Application development life cycle skills likes the use of agile programming process and usage of distributed version control and source code management functionality such as Git and GitHub
    • Experience with the Linux operating system, developing or otherwise working on this platform; RHCSA certification
