    Job summary

    Lead sales activities for our telecommunication and cellular vertical. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an experienced Sales Account Manager to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will serve as the account manager for NTT Docomo. You'll be responsible for promoting sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing booking numbers. As a Sales Account Manager, you will develop and maintain relationships within these accounts and work to sell Red Hat’s offerings, including professional services. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills as you will regularly call on customer executives within your assigned accounts with your manager. You’ll also need to understand executives' challenges to make call scenarios, define issues, and demonstrate how Red Hat's offerings and solutions can resolve them.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Create and implement account plans to ensure that short and long-term revenue goals are met
    • Develop and close sustainable booking across technologies
    • Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals
    • Understand customer business challenges and demonstrate how to solve them using Red Hat’s solutions and services
    • Find new opportunities within your assigned territory (NTT Docomo)

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or other technical discipline
    • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the software or IT industry for a telecommunications or cellular carrier with a demonstrated record of success
    • Thorough understanding of complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Excellent communication skills; language skills in English are a plus
    • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team while demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and ability to work without direct supervision
    • Familiarity with middleware and Linux-related solutions sales cycles is a plus
