Quality Engineer - OpenStack

The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our growing OpenStack team in Spain, Italy, France, or Poland. In this role, you will work as part of a team that serves as the final checkpoint before code is released to the public. You’ll perform function, integration, and UI testing on Red Hat's cloud infrastructure project, Red Hat OpenStack Platform. As a Quality Engineer, you will be encouraged to come up with innovative solutions to problems while you work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source community.

• Write automated tests and carry out manual tests
  Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
• Create test cases and maintain understanding of the processes
• Help develop the community automation testing framework and enhance the coverage by adding more tests to the existing suite
• Find bugs and write accurate bug reports
• Build or enhance tools after gaining support from stakeholders in Quality Engineering and Development teams
• Analyze the source code of the offering and work with development counterparts to propose appropriate test strategies
• Participate in the design session for the offering side by side with the Development and Product Management teams to scope and prioritize new features

• 2-3 years of experience working as an automation quality engineer or software engineer
• Good knowledge in client server technology and REST API calls
• Advanced coding abilities using Python, Selenium, and shell scripting
• Good knowledge in Jenkins; Red Hat Ansible Automation is a plus
• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM, and Xen
• Understanding of cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) tools like Red Hat OpenStack Platform
• Expertise designing, building, and maintaining test environments and automated test suites
• Linux or UNIX system administration experience
• Good knowledge and understanding of networking layers 1-3
