    Job summary

    Work with our mid market customers in the U.K. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Solutions Architect to join us in Farnborough, U.K. In this role, you will help our customers realize the value of Red Hat’s open source software-based solutions in support of their business challenges. You’ll be part of a team of highly skilled solutions architects continuing to revolutionize the way in which the value of open source technology is realized in the IT Enterprise. You’ll be responsible for creating solutions and presenting compelling recommendations to Red Hat’s customers. You'll need to understand business and technology problems and aspirations and help our customers invest wisely in IT infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud solutions that give them maximum flexibility for today and into the future, allowing them to run faster and more efficiently. As a Solutions Architect, you’ll also need to have a mix of technical expertise, passion for open source, thorough understanding of business processes, and of the ability to identify and create business solutions at the enterprise level, as well as excellent communication and people skills, because you'll be a crucial part of the first major experience our customers have with Red Hat.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Present Red Hat’s solutions portfolio of cloud management, virtualization,  and digital transformation solutions
    • Gather customer requirements in the areas of both business and technology using a number of different techniques and sales-driven activities
    • Prepare and present complete technical proposals for customers, addressing complex requirements, designing value-driven architectures, and explaining the application and ROI of these solutions
    • Support the Sales team by delivering compelling recommendations and solutions which directly result in the closing of sales
    • Ensure that revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among the existing and prospective customers
    • Assist in the development of sales strategies to help ensure that Red Hat's objectives are met
    • Conduct live demonstrations of Red Hat’s solutions and their value, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and other solutions as appropriate
    • Serve as a technical point of contact for existing and prospective customers and the Sales team
    • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications
    • Research and write the responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs)
    • Form relationships with customer technical associates to identify new opportunities
    • Lead the gathering of architecture, design, and presentation of solutions to meet the prospective customers’ needs in conjunction with Red Hat’s services solutions and offerings
    • Guide and support presales pilots, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, evaluation, and benchmarks

    Required skills

    • Appreciation of current and upcoming IT trends and their impact on business
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a record of developing relationships at the engineering, commercial, and executive levels
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Ability to discuss the value of open source software choices and solutions with executive teams
    • Ability to use and further develop presales tooling designed to assist Red Hat’s customers with solutions choice and adoption
    • Ability to create customer technology adoption roadmaps and break down complex solutions into clearly defined Red Hat’s services-led adoption journeys
    • Ability to work in the field in remote offices with excellent prioritization and time management skills
    • Ability to identify, contribute to, and realize value from innovation across solutions development teams and translate this innovation into new ways of working that accomplish the Red Hat Sales team’s aims and objectives
    • Willingness to travel up to 50%
