    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Senior Technical Account Manager to join us in Rome, Italy. In this role, you will work closely with Red Hat’s customers to build trust and maintain long-lasting relationships. You’ll discover their IT infrastructure, internal processes, and business needs to provide personalized and active support and guidance. As a Senior Technical Account Manager, you will tailor support for each customers’ environment, facilitate collaboration with their other vendors, and advocate on their behalf. At the same time, you'll work closely with our engineering, research and development, product management, and global support teams to debug, test, and resolve issues.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Perform technical reviews and share knowledge to anticipate and prevent issues
    • Understand and support our customers' technical infrastructure, hardware, and products
    • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
    • Perform initial or secondary investigations and respond to online and phone support requests
    • Deliver key portfolio updates and help our customers upgrade their solutions
    • Travel, as necessary, to visit customers

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of Linux or UNIX system administration experience
    • Understanding of enterprise applications like SAP, Veritas, or SAS
    • Experience in a support, development, engineering, or quality assurance organization
    • Excellent understanding of Linux, the Linux kernel, and Linux file system
    • Practical experience with a variety of hardware vendors
    • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects while maintaining attention to detail
    • Ability to deliver high-quality support that strengthens existing enterprise customer and partner relationships
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to customers clearly and concisely
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or engineering is a plus
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is preferred
