Job summary

Oversee the facilities operations in the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region. Red Hat’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will lead our team in Australia for all aspects of facility management and service delivery and manage the Sydney office. You’ll be responsible for the achievement of the management plan and all key performance indicators and serve as the customer relationship manager by interacting with senior leaders in the ANZ region. As an Associate Manager, you’ll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to be committed to contributing to Red Hat's operational success.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Supervise Facilities Operations associates and develop a solid, dynamic team that supports and exceeds organizational needs
  • Be responsible for talent management of your team, including performance and compensation review
  • Establish regular meetings and communication for the team to ensure consistency in service delivery and best practices
  • Engage with local, regional, and global teams to support GWS and other corporate projects and initiatives
  • Review regional budgets, track and resolve variance, and suggest changes based on the ROI of expenditures
  • Evaluate office processes and programs and ensure that quality, service, and compliance meet defined guidelines
  • Serve as a point of contact for maintenance and repair issues between property management and outside vendors
  • Lead small improvement projects and office projects (refurbishment and new builds)
  • Lead Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment initiatives, including global or regional programs as mandated by law or policy
  • Manage and resolve space changes, planning, and usage
  • Implement and comply with all facilities programs including global or regional policies like Global Security Policy, Safety Warden Program, ergonomics, Snack and Drink Program, ISAAC, business continuity planning (BCP), etc.
  • Manage the office supplies and snacks and drinks in accordance with our team’s programs
  • Negotiate directly with local vendors in order to provide services and supplies for the office and ensure that the vendors meet agreed upon service-level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs
  • Perform regular inspection of the office and meeting rooms, ensuring facilities are working effectively
  • Prepare the annual Facilities Operations team’s budget for the local office
  • Manage day-to-day office budgets, prepare necessary documentation for approval, ensure monthly invoicing is completed on time, and offer analysis as needed
  • Supervise reception responsibilities including incoming calls, visitor management, and security compliance and take over receptionist tasks when needed
  • Partner with other teams, vendors, and outside contacts if necessary to support programs in the office
  • Use company intranet, ticketing, and other computer-based systems and be directly responsible for the local office MOJO pages and the ARCHIBUS real estate management system
  • Manage events like We Are Red Hat Week, year-end party, World Environment Day, and birthday celebrations
  • Provide assistance on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, while recognizing the need for occasional deviation from standard tasks
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to other Red Hat offices

Required skills

  • 8-10 years of solid office management and team lead experience
  • High performance in delivering excellent customer service
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills; able to maintain professional business appearance at all times
  • Attention to detail; experience in most responsibilities listed above and advanced skills for developing systems and processes for smooth office operations
  • Motivated with the ability to work with little direct supervision; ability to work as part of a team and to lead it with positive attitude toward resolving challenges
  • Ability to use office applications and willingness to learn new tools and resources
